THE FAIR DEVOTED TO CONTEMPORARY ART EDITIONS OF ALL KINDS
About
MAD (Multiple Art Days) is a new fair for anyone who wants to collect limited art editions of any kind. This annual event offers a wide spectrum of contemporary art objects, from zines to rare objects: prints, photographs, multiples, books, videos and audio CDs ...
MAD focuses on independent publishers, the most polyvalent actors in today’s art world. Rare and often hard to find, their editions are offered for between 20 € and 20 000 €.
Taking up the entire space of the Maison Rouge, a Parisian foundation dedicated to promoting the different faces of contemporary art, MAD stages these international publishers in an original, innovative configuration, with furniture and interior design by French artist Stéphane Magnin, includling tables, benches and screens from his Do It Yourself library, made of cardboard and wood. His furniture is also available for purchase by the public during the MAD fair. It will be re-created for MAD #2, same ideas, new materials.
The fair also proposes the program MAD TALKS : a series of debates, performances and discussions with graphic designers, museum curators, publishers, collectors, researchers and bookstores from around the world, on editorial practices in contemporary art.
In response to the increasing relevance of publishing to today’s artists, MAD invites publishers to showcase their evolving editorial practices.
Much more than a fair, MAD is also an exhibition, with a selection of projects by each publisher.
MAD IS:
. 3 days of performances, concerts, signatures and discussions on editorial trends in contemporary art.
. 3 days shared with artists, writers, art dealers, bookstores, curators, publishers and collectors.
. 3 days to start your own contemporary art collection.
