Using, knitting, textiles and a range of familiar household materials this exhibition explores the experience of the female in a domestic setting, interpreted from an historical and contemporary context. Featuring sculptural interpretations of the concept of home and surreal interpretations of familiar domestic items.
Kat Button uses every day household materials to make large and small scale sculptures that relate to the concept of nesting. Kat is an associate member of OK Studios and has her work on display at the Drumcroon Gallery in Wigan.
Gaenor Deacon, researches the lives of famous women from the past to present and interpret the experience of their interior lives, in the form of surreal objects. As well, as knitting, she makes doll house interiors and tapestries.
