Join accomplished textile artist Naseem Darbey for a machine stitch masterclass exploring ways of developing and celebrating markmaking through free-hand machine embroidery. Draw directly with the machine onto a variety of surfaces then take these drawings into 3D, building sculptural layers of wire and soluble fabric.
About
Limited machines available so bring your own with embroidery foot if possible. This workshop is suitable for anyone with basic sewing skills.
Please note: If you are bringing your own sewing machine then you will also need an embroidery foot.
Naseem Darbey has been awarded an Arts Council England grant, which is funding the research and development phase (2014-15) of her project Dise-ease. During this masterclass Naseem will be showing some of her new samples/portfolio and sharing her project.
