About

MAAD FX is delighted to invite you to the opening evening of his new show titled London Urban Pop which will be in fact his first UK solo show, this is very exciting.

In this show MAAD FX expresses his past 12 years experience of living in London. He mixes up urban style stencil art with pop art inspiration and lyrical abstract, creating a new style for the future.

The painting of the buildings is made of precise still flowing stencil art in shades of white, grey and black. This represents the relatively infinite temporality of architecture monuments like the ancient ruins of the Greek civilisation. In this “city theatre” mixed and faced paced lifes co-exist, interact and develop. The sometimes uniform and colourful backgrounds of the paintings are metaphors of the various atmospheres and emotions that live in the City. Other times more mixed and energetic backgrounds are metaphors of the many people’s energies and spirits, London’s vibrant patchwork of cultures.

For his first UK solo show MAAD FX has decided to also hold a charity fund raiser event and partner again with the Eastside Educational Trust, a leading Youth Arts provider in East London. Giving back to the local community and helping the development of creativity and art with disadvantaged children in East London.

As you may know I have been living in East London for the last 12 years. I really enjoy the creativity and cultural mix there. Unfortunately the area is quite poor so charities like Eastside Educational Trust which is based in Hackney can make a great difference for the coming generation. They are running loads of amazing projects such as the Verse to Verse reading and writing project for 500 children in primary school or the BFI Film Academy which is a young filmaker workshop for 16-19 years old. I have done a fund raising exhibition event for this charity in 2009 and felt it would be wonderful to support them a little more in their mission in this special occasion which is my first UK solo show.

Please donate on the Virgin Giving page or at the private viewing evening on Wednesday 9 November.

A draw will take place amongst the generous benefactors and the winner will choose a beautiful framed limited edition screen print of her/his choice of the serie London Icons.

Giving back to the community and trying to make it a better place for everyone. Thank you for any donations and I hope you will enjoy my art show.

Put colours in your life,

MAAD FX
