Lynne Collins began her career as a sculptor and painter, after several years of private tuition, in the film and television industry. Lynne is a self-taught photographic artist showing work in The Royal Academy of London, The Royal West of England Academy, The Embankment Gallery at Somerset House and The Association of Photographers in Shoreditch. Lynne was also short listed for The Sovereign European Art Prize.
In her series âOn The Edge of Perception' Lynne brings together images of woodland, and an empty asylum, offering the possibility for nature to rejuvenate these forgotten urban places.
In her most recent series âThe Trespasser' Lynne has returned to the discarded spaces of derelict buildings before they are either redeveloped or knocked down and borrowing from the aesthetic of Seventeenth Century Dutch masters Willem Kalf and the German painter George Flegel, she reworks the symbolism of the still life to make a modern allegory of decadence.
