15 - 19 October
In conjunction with the gallery's investigation and celebration of colour in the work of Boetti, Luxembourg & Dayan will present an exhibition titled 'Monochromes' at their booth in Frieze Masters developing this theme. Colour belongs both to the arts and to the sciences, to high culture and popular culture, both to objectivity and subjectivity. As a theme it seeps between artistic disciplines and movements. The exhibition brings together works spanning from the 1950s to the turn of the 21st century that collate the loosely connected monologues with colour sustained by artists such as Piero Manzoni, Yves Klein, Lucio Fontana, Alberto Burri, Gerhard Richter and Steven Parrino. Be it colourful or achromatic, the exhibition demonstrates the widespread exploration of the language of colour invested in by so many artists.
