LUX SALON: HEY! Work It Out For Yourself
Two rarely seen films exploring the authenticity of production and interpretation, selected by Jackie Holt. Margaret Raspé's 'Oh Death How Nourishing You Are (1972-3, Germany, 15 min, Super-8) explores issues of personal responsibility and death, through the lens of Raspé's purpose-built 'camera helmet'. Stephanie Beroes' 'Debt Begins at 20' (1980, USA, 40 min, 16mm), a semi-fictionalised record of the early years of the Pittsburgh punk scene. 'Oh Death How Nourishing You Are' will be accompanied with a live musical performance from LORD JOHN.
LUX Salon takes place at LUX OFFICE, Shacklewell Studios, 18 Shacklewell Lane, London, E8 2EZ.
