About

Lunar is a series of paintings inspired by the rise and fall of the moon, the ebb and flow of the tides and the transient nature of mood and emotion. Frances Clark-Stone is a Stroud based Contemporary artist working mainly in oils. Her work encompasses both abstract and figurative imagery, responding to inner and outer landscapes. The main feature of this exhibition is work related to a particular place — the River Lune in Lancashire — including figurative work focusing on mood. Also included in this exhibition will be a couple of paintings from a previous series of abstract work ‘Protectors', alongside recent paintings which continue the theme of colours and forms inspired by childhood night time visions.
