About
Luminaire Arts Gallery are delighted to provide a platform to view the works of two innovative British artists Frederick Lowis and Gavin Mitchell. The new gallery space provides a distinctive intimate perspective on the work of two artists.
Gavin Mitchell's art work investigates the framework of human interaction and customs. Predominantly inspired by postcards of ancient Japanese traditions, Gavin layers this appropriated imagery contrasting two different cultures to create a humorous comment on the divergence of human societies.
Frederick Lowis scrutinises the surface of his paintings to produce delicate formations of rich colour undetected by the naked eye; these mesmerising elements are derived from both chance and artistic skill.
The works depict two very different artist journeys but are expected to compliment each other, fascinate and provoke debate.
