The first Lumen Science Fair happens on Saturday 30th July from 3pm, in a shrine to astronomy and space exploration at St John on Bethnal Green.
About
In a playful take on the typical school science fair, explore out of this world glittering underground art installations; space-related craft, prints, clothing, cakes and books in the grotto market; a super/collider pop-up shop, or join in some inspirational workshops with artists and scientists. What's on:
SPACE GROTTO, 3-7pm
Peruse and buy objects of wonder from the likes of super/collider, Print Science,Olivia Bargman and more in the super shiny space grotto installation.
ALTER TALKS, 7-9pm
What are Alter talks? Playful science + drinks from the glorious ever-replenishing church bar. This month features artist Giles Bunch, neuroscientist Dr Simon Jones, and software engineer & AI researcher Tom Stepleton sharing astronomical fascinations and offering serious/sarcastic answers to your space conundrums. GROTTO AFTER PARTY, 9pm-late
Head down to the crypt for an extra special space rave in the glittering grotto.
