Join The Lumen Prize for a half-day seminar with talks from shortlisted artists and panel discussions featuring artists, curators and industry experts.

About

Collecting & Curating in the Digital Age. Chaired by Foteini Aravani, Digital Curator at the Museum of London, this panel will explore the challenges and opportunities digital art poses to collecting and curatorial practices.

Speakers include: Mila Askarova (Director of Gazelli Art House), Carla Gannis (Artist and Professor of Digital Arts at the Pratt Institute, NY) and Poppy Simpson (Head of Content & Curation at Meural)

Digital Art in the Public Sphere. As projectors, screens and ephemeral art has moved into our points of access, this panel will examine how the nature of public art is changing.

Speakers include: Sean Clark (Artist and researcher), Phil Dawson (Allied London) and Rachel Falconer (Independent curator, writer and development consultant)

Virtual Reality in Contemporary Art.  Chaired by Michael Takeo Magruder, winner of the 2015 Immersive Environment Award, three artists embracing this technology explore the potential it has as a medium.

Speakers include: Matteo Zamagni (Artist), Tom Szirtes (Artist and Founder of Mbryonic ), Iain Nicholls (Artist). 

A number of 2016 Lumen Prize artists will be giving talks during the session including Rachel Ara, boredomresearch, Jon McCormack, Stefan Reiss and Carla Chan.
