Our opening show is the work of Lucien Monod taken from his Studio Estate. Last seen in the UK in a joint exhibition with Wilfrid de Glehn at the Goupil Gallery in 1899, the catalogue forwarded by the American Impressionist John Singer Sargent, the exhibition makes a timely re-appraisal.

About

Like his friends Wilfrid de Glehn and John Singer Sargent, Monod carried Impressionism in to the twentieth century. His sensitively observed en plein air oils and watercolours of boats in the harbour at Cannes and St Tropez, the lush landscape that surrounded his home in Provence, or the roses picked fresh from his garden, reveal the strength of this forgotten master.

The exhibition will include over eighty works from the artist's estate and presents a major opportunity for collector's to acquire works fresh to the market.

The exhibition is accompanied by a fully illustrated 64 page catalogue. Please see www.messums.com for further details or telephone 020 7287 4448.
