Love Tokens - Handsewing Workshop with Caroline Ip | 9 June 2024 | SHOR in the City | Threads
In this workshop, join us as we hold, share, and honour our friendships, familial, and ancestral connections through textiles.
About

Drawing on traditions of love and friendship tokens, this session will explore what it means to collect stories and memories in a personal, multisensory archive. Using stitch, amongst other techniques, we will create small keepsakes representing a significant relationship in our lives, whether with a partner, a friend, a family member/ancestor, or anyone else who you feel inspired to create a piece about!
You do not have to have any textiles experience, as this session will introduce hand-sewing basics, and you will be able to explore the theme and play with the materials in whatever way feels comfortable.
*We have limited spaces, so RSVP at the earlist and let us know atleast 24 hours in advance if you are not able to make it*
We are running this workshop on a pay what you can model. We will be accepting funds in the form of cash / bank transfer / PayPal, on the day of the event. We reccomend a donation of £3 / £5 / £7 / £10 which will be used to cover materials costs and support our partner venue. If you are unable to cover this, please do not be afraid to reach out and we would still be happy to welcome you in the space.
