About

Louise Bourgeois: The Spider, the Mistress and the Tangerine documents the life, work, and imagination of Paris-born artist Louise Bourgeois. The result of over fourteen years of concentrated filming, Wallach and Cajori's cinematic documentary presents an intimate psychological portrait of Bourgeois. Focusing on the artist at work in her studio and among her installations, it illuminates the personal influences that informed her practice. This special screening is presented by Freud Museum London in conjunction with the exhibition Louise Bourgeois: The Return of the Repressed (8 March — 27 May 2012). (US 2008 Dir. Marion Cajori & Amei Wallach 99 min.)
