Haunt invites you to join us again for the revelation of April's featured artist. This month we are proud to announce our featured artist is Lottie Hughes presenting her ‘Collection’ photography series.

About

Lottie is a London-based artist who works in sculpture, photography and installation.

STATEMENT:
“All true artists, whether they know it or not, create from a place of no-mind”
Eckhart Tolle

When I look at the world I see repetition of life and it’s materials, I become obsessed by the multiples of ordinary life, random assembly of colour, composition and form. The stacks of old belongings crowding a balcony, perfectly slotted into place so every little thing can fit, the banal and unassuming that pokes around corners and spills out of skips. These things find their way into my mind, and I use my camera as a tool to solidify these moments, fragments of time and space.

I call these images ‘Collections’.

LIVE MUSIC FROM MS. JACKSON

Ms. Jackson is a South East London based ambient-soul singer-songwriter. After studying at ICMP, she joined a shoegaze dream-pop band Rafaella & The Rib singing backing vocals for her good friend Rafaella, which in the process began to write more of her own material. She began to hand them over to friends for more input, having jam sessions and taking electronic trip-hop like approaches and soon started to play her material live, just herself and keys.

Spending pretty much all her life experimenting with her voice her influences include musicians like James Blake, Radiohead, Stevie Nicks, Bjork, Pearl Jam, and many more alternative musicians. She has taken and is still learning to create her own way of writing and composing a soulful, ambient, raw, deep & real style with heartfelt lyrics and harmonic build up flirts on keys to really engage and capture her audience as well as herself.
