Ben Edmunds's brainchild Lost Horizons will open at Noble Studios on September 8th. Here, the RCA-trained painter will transform the space into somewhere that appears as much a travel agency as a gallery.

About

Currently undergoing a 2 year Masters in painting at the RCA, Edmunds is fresh off a reputable solo exhibition at Marylebone's Carousel Next Door earlier this year, as well as a listing in Saatchi Art's 2016 'Top 10 Artists to invest in' series.

Lost Horizons will transform Noble Studios into somewhere that appears as much a travel agency as a gallery. Edmunds sees the business of selling holidays as capitalising on a universal desire for escape, and considers such themes of longing and freedom in the act of painting and the associated marketing of abstraction.

Ben aims to bring this realisation to the surface, with horizon lines punctuating the room, CRT screens looping sequences of sunsets and palm trees, and paintings accentuating the contextual ambiguity between the real and the imagined.
