About

On 14th September, Alon Zakaim Fine Art launches In the Mood, the debut exhibition by the acclaimed portrait photographer Lorenzo Agius which runs at the gallery until 14th October 2009. The exhibition presents an exclusive selection of his most celebrated portraits available as limited editions to the public for the very first time. Brad Pitt, Jack Nicholson, Angelina Jolie and Keira Knightly are just some of the many celebrities featured. In the Mood follows the photographers' colourful affair with ‘celebrity' over the past two decades. Expertly capturing the character and individuality of each of his sitters, Agius' images bubble with personality and feature major icons of our time; including Tom Cruise and Madonna. In every image, Agius tunes into the creativity of his subjects and successfully reflects the mood of the moment and the person in that moment. Each photograph offers a brief look in to the celebrity soul. Enjoying British imagery, Lorenzo Agius celebrates local culture and stereotypes. Many of the photographs include a reference to British culture, be it fish and chips, boiled eggs and soldiers or an English country garden. Each photograph offers a light, refreshing and humorous peek as never before seen with this calibre of celebrity. In the Mood launches at Alon Zakaim Fine Art from the 14th September - 14th October 2009 and coincides with Agius' British Style Icons exhibition, 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty, to be held at the Natural History Museum, London on September 21st 2009.
