About

London Independent Photography (LIP) is a London based group of over 600 photographers. The work of LIP is based in the view that photographic images can mirror the personal experiences and feelings of the photographer and that making them can be a means to personal growth. The annual exhibition provides members the opportunity to show work completed during the last year to a wider audience. The range of subjects covered, photographic methods and every aspect of the creative progress is left open the individual photographer. This year the annual exhibition received over 670 prints and we have hung a selection of these as chosen by our external selectors, Bridget Coaker (Picture editor working for Guardian and Observer newspapers and Founder / Director of Photography for the online contemporary photography gallery Troika Editions and Mick Williamson (head of Photography at Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design at London Metropolitan University, where he has been teaching photographic studies since 1975).
