About
An exhibition of a collaborative student project between London College of Fashion and Beijing Institute of Clothing Technology. With the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, there is a renewed interest in how fashion can reference the Olympic ethos, and the evolution of athletic clothing - designed specifically to enhance performance, express identity and adhere to the specific ergonomics dictated by the human body engaged in physical activities.
In the spirit of the Olympics, students from a cross section of courses and specialisms have been asked to research performance sportswear from any country or time, and through careful analysis and development, design and make an item which could easily be worn by today's fashion aware consumer. The results of the first stage of this creative brief will be on display during this exhibition.
This project is sponsored by KAPPA/China.
