Music for Film — A practical guide for editors, filmmakers and music producers using Logic Pro

About

This course is designed to give you the practical information and opportunity to practice synchronising music and sound to picture. The course will be taught on Logic Pro, but the skills and processes are all transferable to other software. It is ideal for people who want to compose their own music and/or sound design as well as editors and film makers who would like to have a deeper understanding of the process or try their hand at creating their own soundtrack. Topics Covered: Ӣ Synchronisation Ӣ Using sound plops Ӣ Creating a sound palette Ӣ Spotting a film (where and when to put the music) Ӣ Creating a temp track Ӣ Musical approaches for the film Ӣ Working with dialogue Ӣ Converting and importing//exporting films, final deliverables. People should be familiar with Logic Pro or have done the Logic Pro Introduction before taking this course. Each student has their own workstation for the practical parts of the course and can discuss any specific areas of interest they may have towards the end of the day with the tutor.
