About

littlewhitehead is the artistic entity created by Craig Little and Blake Whitehead. Approaching subjects with the unabashed manner of a child, littlewhitehead's work plays with notions of reality and unreality, between the realisation of a fiction and the fictionalisation of the real. Through the manipulation of familiar imagery, events and emotions, littlewhitehead creates moments of intrigue, instantly recognisable whilst simultaneously sinister and perplexing. The Fourth Wall continues the artists' use of theatrical elements and their continual fascination with involving the audience in their work, on this occasion attempting to play a joke on them. The work is influenced by a continual dialogue between Craig and Blake, who exploit littlewhitehead as a vehicle to express their own subconscious musings, suppressed desires and taboo narratives. Craig Little (b 1980) and Blake Whitehead both graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 2007. Recent exhibitions have included K Gallery, Milan (2009); Tate Triennial Mobile Conference, Bun House, London (2009); Bloomberg New Contemporaries, A Foundation, Liverpool (2008).
