Lisa Le Feuvre, Head of Sculpture Studies at the Henry Moore Institute, Leeds will consider Bruce Nauman's work through the idea of failure, thinking through how his productive use of repetition and error test the boundaries of sculpture. Using frustrated communication, slips in language and processes of labour, Nauman consistently unpacks assumptions we use to find our place in the world. Taking the exhibition as a starting point, this talk proposes failure as a means to understand perception.
