As a pioneer of soda-glaze firing, Lisa Hammond MBE, has built a global presence in studio pottery. This exhibition introduces new work, possibly on a new scale, at Contemporary Ceramics.

About

Both a dedicated teacher and advocate in the field of Ceramics, Lisa Hammond has established a position of prestige amongst her peers and is recognized as one of the leading potters in the UK today. Alongside a series of thrown functional ware, this influential London potter explores a range of individual wheel-thrown vessels. The exhibition features bowls, bottles and jars that are decorated with gestural brush marks, poured slips and glazes. Lisa achieves unique surfaces through her mark making that take on intriguing depth when fired. The finished works hold a quality within the surface that embodies the original softness of the wet clay and celebrates the artists personal touch.
