Liquid Emulsion Workshop by Naroa Perez
About
Photographer Naroa Perez joins the Darkroom to present a new workshop introducing the wonders of working with liquid emulsion.
Over the course of the day you will learn about the technical processes associated with photosensitive emulsion and how to coat Japanese Shoji paper and Organdy cotton fabric and explore their translucent qualities. There will also be the opportunity to look at other materials to discover their potential for producing images on. Naroa will provide insight into the processes that have informed her work and discuss how to produce photographic prints on a variety of surfaces. Unlike traditional photographic printing, working with liquid emulsion produces unique, one-off creations that are tactile and ask to be touched.
This session is aimed at the photographer who has experience of working in a darkroom and is looking to expand their practice and apply their creativity in new directions.
Participants must have previous darkroom printing experience.
All materials are included in the session.
