We are very excited to announce that as part of our current exhibition HOME/Interior one of our exhibitors and expert printmaker Jamie Temple will be running two linocut workshops.
About
These workshops can stand alone but work wonderfully in conjunction with each other. We are very open to beginners but Jamie's knowledge means practicing artists are sure to learn something new.Workshop 1 (Saturday 7th October): Single colour to Multi Plate Linocut
Starting with a single block of lino we will create a one colour print, then learn how to transfer onto a second block to produce a multi-plate lino print. This workshop gives insight into the linocut process and introduces techniques for registering multiple blocks of lino, the tools and materials used and various printing methods to create one and two colour lino prints.
Workshop 2 (Saturday 14th October): Three Colour Reduction Linocut
Using a single block of lino to create an edition of three colour lino prints. This one-day workshop provides an in-depth introduction to the possibilities offered by reduction relief printing and the tools and techniques employed. Participants will learn how to separate and register multiple layers of colour, roll and apply ink and experiment with different methods for lino printing artworks by hand.
