This 2-day workshop will give you an in-depth introduction to lino printing techniques. You’ll learn how to transfer an image to lino, use carving tools, register and print your lino block using oil based inks on a traditional Hoe Press. You will create multiple prints to take home.

About

On this two day course lead by artist and printmaker Jamie Temple you will be given a broad introduction to lino printing techniques, learning about varied approaches to creating your own artworks on paper. Following an in depth introduction to the process, you’ll be shown a selection of prints for inspiration. Jamie will be on hand throughout to offer individual help and guidance. By the end of the course you will have created multiple prints to take home and be confident working with varied printing methods, in either the print studio or back at home.

The course will cover:

• Sketching out ideas

• Transferring your image to the lino block

• Working with carving tools

• Registration techniques

• Using oil based inks

• Safe use of a press

What to Bring:

Bring along a notebook and any source material you’d like to work from. Wear old clothes as you may get inky. All materials are provided.
