Works on display include photography, fashion, moving image and jewellery design amongst others, with the exhibition aiming to give exposure to emerging talent from not only here in London but also from around the world.
People come to London for numerous reasons, perhaps to discover their artistic identity or to express their creative freedom, using ideas from their own personal experiences combined with their new surroundings. Works vary largely in subject matter and style but all have this central theme in common, providing an intriguing look into some of the many ways that individuals perceive the cultures in which they live. Documentary photography shot in China presents an intimate look into daily life, fashion design inspired by Japan puts a modern spin on traditional garments and jewellery design from Russia incorporates personal experience into art, to name just a few.
The exhibition will be held at Bow Arts’ R.A.W. Labs, a contemporary art space and café, making it the perfect venue for such a diverse show where anyone and everyone can come together. It will open on Friday the 13th of April 2018, with an opening event in the evening held in conjunction with R.A.W. Labs’ beer and pizza night, and will remain open on Saturday the 14th of April.
