The Riverside Café Gallery is delighted to welcome back local artist Kim Cody with an exhibition of her latest abstract works concerned with LINE, LIGHT and COLOUR.
Kim’s work is derived from the landscape but is an emotional rather than figurative response to the environment. Her paintings are made up of lines, shapes, tones, textures and colours taken from drawings and watercolour sketches made outside in the landscape.
Sometimes lines act as boundaries which contain the other elements. In some areas the colours dominate, occasionally overlapping or overwhelming each other. Sometimes clearly defined shapes occur but some are distorted, lost or submerged
