Jessica Jordan – Ceramics

“Getting together is a real chance for us to showcase what we do best: jewellery, photography, painting, ceramics and pewter. Come and ‘Meet the Artist’ all day Sunday 3 March and have a drink with us and find out how we make our unique artworks. There will also be a few surprise giveaways!” – Jessica

Fleur Grenier – Pewterware

“It takes me up to two to four weeks to complete a piece of from start to finish. I hand-build all of my pieces and work with very wet clay to construct my forms. I treat the clay surface like a canvas painting with underglaze and slips on the top of the clay before shaping each piece by hand. My biggest achievement has to be setting up a studio at Field Place Manor House in Worthing where I hold classes for a diverse group of ages and abilities. What inspires me most is everyday surfaces such as pavements, walls and farmers fields. It’s the things that we all miss or pay no attention to that I find the most interesting. I sell my work at the Sussex Guild Shop in Lewes and I run classes Tuesday – Friday, as well as one weekend a month.”  – Fleur

Fleur completed her M.A. in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing Metalwork & Jewellery at The Royal College of Art in 1996. She is a member of The Sussex Guild and The Worshipful Company of Pewterers. Her designs range from one-off sculptural pieces to tableware such as cheese knives, serviette rings and vases. All of her designs are individual and sculptural in style, her current range ‘Maris’, has developed from a series of drawings that she did of Bladderwrack seaweed which can be found on the beach near to where she lives in Littlehampton. Movement and fluidity are the main influences for her work and each piece is designed to capture these elements.

Lorraine Gibby – Jewellery

Lorraine’s jewellery starts with surface design and colour. Having encountered the use of aluminium as an alternative material whilst training as a jewellery designer/silversmith over 20 years ago, she immediately set out to add print-making to her skills in order to develop a unique range of jewellery incorporating this challenging metal.

She now specialises in silkscreen and lino block printing, producing beautifully vibrant, patterned surfaces on aluminium. Layered with precious metals and sometimes highlighted with a gemstone, each piece of jewellery is unique, bold and comfortable to wear.

Roy Matthews – Photography

Roy is a freelance photographer and teacher based in Sussex. His current works are large scale light painted still life photographs influenced by the Dutch painters of the 16th Century.

Jane Denman – Painting

Jane is a painter and lives in East Preston. Jane exhibits in the south east and is probably best known for her dance paintings in acrylic. She will be showing large scale colourful dance paintings at the exhibition as well as drawings and smaller works. Jane has her own art class business, Skyblue Art Classes, teaching adults drawing and painting at Heene Community Centre in Worthing.
