Working in collaboration with Crossacres knitting group, puppets and objects have been animated in an intergenerational partnership. Be a monster, catch a monster, find a creature, see yourself on screen; ‘Lights, Camera Action!' offers an insightful, fun filled and creative experience, highlighting the imagination and creativity of the pupils at Piper Hill High School, in an extension of the project workshops. The programme is part of the Start education programme created by the Prince's Foundation for Children and the Arts (Children and the Arts). Children and the Arts was founded by HRH The Prince of Wales with the fundamental belief that every child has the right to be inspired by the arts. CFCCA is proud to have a long running relationship with Children and the Arts as a Start education partner. Start gives those arts venues judged to have exciting and imaginative projects and clear determination and passion to deliver work to new audiences, as well as the vital funding and specialist support to run long-term, high-quality arts projects with The Start programme is designed to reach children from social and economically disadvantaged backgrounds who have very little experience of high quality arts activities and who would benefit most from early intervention in order to unlock their potential. Through the work of Children and the Arts, children learn that cultural venues are welcoming, accessible places to visit and since 2006 Children and the Arts has introduced over 300,000 children to life-changing arts experiences.
