Light to Night Festival is an annual urban art event that celebrates the stunning Civic District of Singapore. It aims to make art accessible, bringing a range of creative and artistic expressions to a wide audience. The festival spans the indoor and outdoor areas of National Gallery Singapore, The Arts House, Asian Civilisations Museum, the Esplanade, Victoria Theatre and Victoria Concert Hall.
Light to Night 2019: Traces and Echoes comprises of 2 editions:
• Art Week Edition (18–27 Jan) offers a contemporary lens that explores concepts of nature, order and chaos across the façades of the Civic District and within the walls of its monumental landmarks, and is inspired by histories and stories, in response to the theme of Traces and Echoes.
• Bicentennial Edition (28 Jan–24 Feb) reflects on the nation’s journey and examines key moments in 700 years of its history through memories and stories found in the Civic District –the site where Singapore's historical, architectural and cultural heritage began.
Various locations around Civic District including The Arts House, Asian Civilisations Museum, the Esplanade, Victoria Theatre and Victoria Concert Hall, Empress Lawn, Esplanade Park, and Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay
