About
In collaboration with the British- Kazakh Society and committee of art collectors we have selected a number of original works by leading artists form Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. In an effort to merge past and present, history and contemporary times, we recognize the great contribution and cause of inspiration by the leading, pioneering figures of the area such as Al Harismi , Al Farabi, Al-Biruni, Avicenna and Ulugh beg, alongside the great ancient trading route now ‘sparking back to life’ - the Great Silk Road, and some of the enthralling cities on its path such as Bukhara and Samarkand.
The artists featured in this show will be Yerbolat Tolepbay, Vladimir Tverdokhlebov, Marat Bekeev, Bobur Ismailov, Saule Suleimenova and Ronald Kleijer, whose works build an eclectic and diverse collection inspired by the history, traditions and values of this ancient region.
The paintings range in style from realism, cubism, impressionism to abstract and while faithful to the significant schools of art, crafts, dance, music and science specific to Central Asia they “unveil” hidden delights complemented by the individual interpretation of each artist.
