AboutLocation: ICA Studio
LIFT is hosting our first ever festival hack bringing together coders, creatives and friends of LIFT to hack the festival and come up with new ideas for digital projects for our next pan-London festival in summer 2014.
We want to use technology to make LIFT even better - to bring the Festival closer to the public, to bring audiences nearer to the heart of theatre, and to basically shake up the whole idea of theatrical performance and drag it kicking, screaming and air-kissing into the 21st Century.
Well, ok, maybe we won't be quite that aggressive - but we do want to come up with some truly innovative concepts around how tech and digital can change the way in which LIFT works, and how we can ensure that next year's Festival takes advantage of new technologies.
The LIFT festival hack will be a day for play and paper-prototyping ideas for fun digital projects around themes of LIFT. Using tech, mobile, geo location and a lot of creativity we want to look at how we can create a festival feeling in a city as big as London. How to encourage festival-goers to play and participate, and engage with the fabric and topography of the city and our festival programme.
We're looking to collaborate with a mixture of developers, programmers and coders to create ideas and build partnerships for our next festival. Food and refreshments will be provided so all you'll need is a laptop, a good pen and sense of adventure about London.
