How aware are you of your body language? And how fluent are you at reading and interpreting other people’s signals?
About
How aware are you of your body language? And how fluent are you at reading and interpreting other people’s signals?
In this session, we learn the power of communicating through body language from the Old Masters by examining a range of portrait and history paintings to see how the figures depicted enhance their personal impact or presence, build rapport, or manage conflict through the messages they send with their bodies.
Try out some real-life scenarios for yourself, reflecting body language in paintings, and discover how you can use these in your own life. You may like to bring a postcard or digital image of a National Gallery painting that you feel epitomises or evokes particular emotions or behaviours through body language.
No experience necessary, and refreshments included.
Life lessons from the Old Masters
The paintings in our collection depict a vast range of human emotions and life experiences, from love and fear to triumph and sacrifice. But what can we learn from Old Master paintings and how relevant are they to our lives today? Come with a sense of fun and exploration for these participatory sessions. No experience necessary. Refreshments included.
