Dramatic Lighting Figure Drawing with Professional Life Models

In the quiet town of Purfleet, every second Thursday 7-9pm, fine artists will host a Life Drawing Session not to be missed. The focus of these sessions is to create a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and to welcome new and experienced artist to enjoy two hours of figure drawing. We chose experienced life models, with a mix of genders and ethnicities to enable a seamless and interesting drawing experience. This will be an informal class where no experience is necessary. These drawing sessions are a great way to unwind, improve your life drawing skills and mingle with fellow creatives!

Materials such as paper, charcoal and pencils will be available at a small cost. Please bring any materials you might want to work with/experiment with. If you have a problem sitting for long periods, there will be a couple of easels if you would rather stand and draw.

Suggested materials:

Paper or sketchbook
charcoal/pencils

eraser, putty eraser

Since we are working with dramatic lighting, to create more depth and shadows within the figure, feel free to experiment with black paper (and a white material/pencil/charcoal). An artist will give a demonstration of adding and lifting techniques, which give great chiaroscuro results.

Light refreshment during the 15min interval.

Fully equipped building with facilities.
