Explore and compare Matisse and Bonnard’s varying styles and approaches to the female form and their unique use of colour and composition.
About
This 2 day course is structured to allow you the freedom to experiment with colour and follow in the footsteps of these two great artists and friends. You will develop line drawings in ink, layered charcoal drawings and small composition studies leading up to sustained pure pastel drawings. There will be plenty of demonstrations of techniques and explanations of their influences.
The studio set-up will emulate both Bonnard’s intimate domestic scenes and Matisse’s own studio where the model draped in colourful fabrics will interact with props and furniture.
