Suitable for beginners looking to sharpen up their observational skills, or for regulars looking for a relaxed and sociable drawing session.
About
Life drawing is the practice of drawing the nude figure, a timeless test of observation and focus. The session will involve drawing from poses of varying length, beginning with quick sketches and progressing to longer sittings of around 20 minutes.
Bringing your own materials is advised, though cartridge paper, from A1 downwards, will be available, as will access to many essential drawing materials and drawing boards. There are 6 easels for those who prefer to stand. To ensure good spacing, each workshop will be limited to a maximum of 10 attendees and booking online beforehand will be required.
Sessions will be hosted by Jonathan Small, a practicing portrait artist and frequent life drawer. He’ll be drawing along in the sessions, but will be on hand for tuition and advice for beginners. Some of his work can be seen here: https://www.instagram.com/jjonathanssmall/
Artbox London is a registered charity and social enterprise supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to create, exhibit, sell and license their artwork. All profits raised from this workshop will go towards supporting the charity and our artists.
