The exhibition title in a mix of languages represents the cultural diversity of the participating artists – explores the language of light and darkness in the optical medium photography and video, then jumps into the ''tenebrae'', the darkness, to bring back artworks about memory.
About
Anne Kathrin Greiner photographs spaces that exist in personal and collective memory with a psychological gaze, bringing them to life with elements of horror or fantasy. Nazli Eda Noyan animates conversations with her grandmother in her short “One cup of Turkish coffee'' worth a lifetime’s memories: intense, bitter and taken to the heart. In searching for and archiving memories in the darkness of drawers, Catalina Giraldo Perez's and Marlen Pelny's poetry film ''The picture in the picture in the picture in the picture'' is a metaphor for the nostalgia of forgotten times. Then, in the gloom, a blood-red light flickers: Juliane Jaschnow's and Stefan Petermann's poetry film ''The Wolf fearing the Wolf'' explores the past as an armour. In a photography installation, Nat Tafelmacher-Magnat faces her grandmother's advanced Alzheimer and the absence of memory.
