The exhibition references Ferrari’s egalitarian understanding of art. In cooperation with the Fundación Augusto y León Ferrari – Arte y Acervo (FALFAA) and the Taller Humano selected graphics by Ferrari are made available that visitors can multiply by way of silk screen printing on the weekends.

About

In the exhibition, key works by the Argentine conceptual artist are presented alongside lesser-known works that have not yet been shown in Germany. As an open studio, the exhibition space cites Atelier Ferraris and invites visitors to interact with a diverse supporting program.

León Ferrari (1920-2013) is now considered one of the most important artists in Latin America of the twentieth century. His works are collected and exhibited by renowned museums around the world. The exhibition at neurotitan includes originals and licensed reproductions of the series Heliografias (heliographies), Brailles, Esculturas Sonoras (sound sculptures), Nunca Más (never again), Electronicartes and smaller objects.

Reproducing Them Infinitely refers to the artist's concept in which he suggests the possibility of “infinite” reproduction of his works of art. The questioning of authorship and a hierarchy between the original and the copy characterizes the work of León Ferrari and is the main theme of the exhibition. With a supporting program, visitors are invited on the weekends to reproduce the artist's work themselves using various printing techniques, which enables the exhibition theme to be experienced directly and in an inclusive way. By working with inclusion experts, blind and deaf visitors, as well as people with learning difficulties, have access to Ferrari's works.

One of the work cycles shown in the exhibition that illustrates the political self-image of León Ferrari's art are the compositions that Ferrari made for the Nunca Más report in 1995 as a reaction to the Argentine military dictatorship (1976-1983). This resulted in massive violent disappearances among the civilian population. One of the victims is the son of León Ferraris. The subject of enforced disappearance, a human rights crime that has so far not been adequately dealt with in Germany, will be discussed in detail in the exhibition and in connection with the works of León Ferrari and will be discussed in a public event on the International Day of Forced Disappearance on August 30th.

The aim of the exhibition is to create a resonance space for Ferrari's life's work, in which a diverse audience can participate directly.
