'Letting Light Pass Through' is the first of two exhibitions that focus on the concept of the translucent to explore visibility, opacity, refraction, light and matter within artistic and aesthetics practices.

About

'Letting Light Pass Through' reflects on the contingencies of light as operations of visibilization and occultation from a gender perspective, while thinking of the construction of bodies through the agency of the glance.

The exhibition aims to question how we think of the translucent as an aesthetic or visual strategy that does not limit itself to technical matters nor to conceptual ones. It articulates differente glances of artists working in different latitudes that actively reflect, imagine and problematise the object, the image and its representation.

The show thinks of the displacement of light as a moment when metaphors occur: the effects and affects where subjectivities take place, transform or become other, as long as they let the light pass through.

Artists: Saelia Aparicio, Minerva Ayón, Carolina Fusilier, Lourdes Martínez,María Naidich, Natasha Sabatini and Himali Singh Soin.
