Children's workshops taking place every Wednesday in August in The Engine Room

About

To celebrate ten years since the opening of The Exchange, we have asked artist Alice Ellis-Bray to create a series of children’s workshops inspired by the current exhibition, A Certain Kind Of Light. 

Suitable for all ages, but U7s must be accompanied by an adult.
£5 per workshop, booking through eventbrite. You can book on as many weeks as you like. See read more below for dates, workshop details and booking details.

Workshop 1: Wed 2 Aug
SUN CATCHERS
In this workshop you will create beautiful visuals that will explode with colour, inspired by Peter Lanyon's sculpture in the exhibition. book here

Workshop 2: Wed 9 Aug
DRAWING WITH STRING
This time we will be looking at Mark Titchner's sculpture and explore string and wool as a drawing material. How does it work? - Come and find out! book here

Workshop 3: Wed 16 Aug
SHADOW STORIES
Shadow and light play a big role in Ceal Floyer's installation. Make your own characters and 3D sculptures to tell stories in our shadow theatre. book here

Workshop 4: Wed 23 Aug
RECYCLED ART
Lots of colourful plastic bottles make up David Batchelor's installation. Using recycled materials you will create colourful architecture and landscape models that light up at night! book here

Workshop 5: Wed 30 Aug
LOOKING GLASS LAND MASKS
What do you see when you look at things - and when things look back at you? Having a closer look at Anish Kapoor's sculpture you will be making magical masks from special materials. book here
