Eine U-Bahnstation, eine Vitrine, ein Haus, das sich langsam in der Vitrine um die eigene Achse dreht. Was zuerst als heimelig erscheint, entpuppt sich rasch als fremd und unwohnlich. Die Räume sind auf unerwartete Weise oder teils gar nicht miteinander verbunden, Einschnitte in Wände und Decken lassen den Blick durch das ganze Modell schweifen und die Möbel sind nach ihren eigenen Regeln von Funktionalität im Raum platziert."Fast Zuhause" ist ein Blockhaus mit den Ambitionen eines Zuhauses, fast gemütlich, fast wohnlich und fast heimelig, ist es irgendwo auf der Strecke zwischen einer Ansammlung von Gegenständen und gut bürgerlicher Einrichtung stecken geblieben. Das Mikrohaus dreht sich immer weiter, während die Betrachter selbst rein und raus rauf und runter in die U-Bahn hasten, von einem Ort zum nächsten, vielleicht auf dem Weg nach Hause, schon fast angekommen aber eben noch nicht. Und vielleicht verkürzt die Entdeckungsreise auf kleinem Raum dem einen oder anderen Reisenden die anfällige Wartezeit.
Leonie Brandner ist an den Beziehungen zwischen Menschen und Orten interessiert; die Art und Weise mit der Orte bedeutungsvoll für Leute werden. In dem Sinne interessiertisie sich für das Konzept des Zuhauses: die Umgebung, Objekte, Menschen und Routinen, die ein Zuhause erst zu einem Zuhause machen.
Die Künstlerin ist in der Schweiz aufgewachsen, hat ihren Bachelor in Fine Art am Chelsea College of Art in London abgeschlossen und lebt nun in Berlin. Die Erfahrung Beziehungen und Verbindungen an einem bis anhin unbekannten Ort neu zu knüpfen, ist länger ein Thema ihrer Arbeiten geworden. Es ist eine Erforschung der unsichtbaren Strukturen des Alltags: Die Art mit welcher Routineauseinandersetzungen mit der Welt Dingen Bedeutung verleihen.

A subway station, a showcase, a house that slowly turns in the Vitrine 01 around its own axis. What at first seems to be homey quickly turns out to be strange and unfamiliar. The rooms are connected in an unexpected way or at least not at all, cuts in walls and ceilings allow the view to wander through the whole model and the furniture is placed according to its own rules of functionality in the room.
"Fast Zuhasue" is a log cabin with the ambitions of a home, almost cozy, almost homely and almost homely, it got stuck somewhere on the stretch between a collection of objects and good bourgeois furnishings. The micro-house keeps turning, while the spectators themselves rush in and out of the subway, from one place to the next, maybe on the way home, but almost arrived but not yet. And perhaps the journey of discovery in a small space shortens the susceptible waiting time for one or the other traveler.
Leonie Brandner is interested in the relationships between people and places; the way places become meaningful to people. In this sense, the concept of the home is interesting: the environment, objects, people, and routines that make a home a home first.
The artist grew up in Switzerland, completed her bachelor's degree in fine art at Chelsea College of Art in London and now lives in Berlin. The experience of re-establishing relationships and connections in a hitherto unknown place has long been a topic of her work. It is an exploration of the invisible structures of everyday life: the way in which routine confrontations with the world give meaning to things.
