Adam Gallery is pleased to present this exhibition of new work by Leo McDowell, an artist with whom we have worked over many years. These paintings reflect Leo's continuing development within a unique and individual style of painting.Leo's distinctive approach is characterised by his use of mixed media and a playful distortion of form and perspective. He uses a base of gesso from which he creates a textured, multi-layered surface by adding a wide range of water based media. This, in contrast, forms an image with a flattening effect as if the figures or animals are stuck on like a collage.
