About
'East London Swimmers' book, published by Hoxton Mini Press London in 2014, will be available to browse and buy on the night, as well as throughout the show at King's Ship.
Legacy’ was initiated from an idea to reflect on found talent and originality, and what is left behind for future generations, and is a selection of works by Madeleine Waller and Mattias Pettersson. It aims at pondering on essential questions such as what is important, what should be encouraged, what are our priorities nowadays, and with all the abundance of information available today, how to focus on quality and craft, as well as matter over superficiality.
The exhibition is curated by Oana Damir, and is currently her fourth independent showcase. The pop-up gallery is represented by a series of shows in which various artists are exposed to a new audience, as well as it being a way to engage the local creative community to network and revitalize the arts scene, and continue the contemporary art discourse,an invitation to ponder on social values and issues.
