Penumbra Foundation is pleased to present Overclouded, a solo exhibition of new and recent work by artist Leah Beeferman.

About

Landscapes and weather defy our means of representation; it is impossible to capture either in its entirety. Fascinated by recording the visible effects of an invisible atmosphere on a landscape, Beeferman visits disparate landscapes and the scientific observatories that collect data about those environments while gathering her own photographic information. Through multilayered photographic prints, 3D scenes, CNC and laser-etched aluminum panels, and videos, she explores the complexity and elusiveness of earthly phenomena and how they are represented as photographic and scientific images.
