Photographer and visual artist, Laurent Millet composes the chapters of an imaginary encyclopedia, populated with objects that he constructs and then photographs in natural settings or in his studio. His assemblages are hybrids of traditional objects, scientific, architectural, or works of artists whose work he loves. Each of these constructions is an opportunity to question the status of the image: its history, its place, the physical phenomena attached to it and its modes of appearance.
