Hosted by: Latitude - Platform for Brazilian Galleries Abroad

Latitude hosts its own online art fair as Brazilian galleries get together in task force to strengthen digital presence. The platform for Brazilian galleries abroad will hold Latitude Art Fair from 24 - 27 September 2020, with the participation of 54 primary-market galleries.

Latitude Art Fair is a partnership with Artsy and will include viewing rooms, a sales inquiry and a collector conversation function, and an augmented reality feature. Nearly the entire membership of ABACT associate galleries are participating in the fair, amounting to a total of 54 galleries including fourteen newly associated.

Among participants are some of Brazil’s largest galleries and internationally well-known, as well as a wide range of galleries from different regions of Brazil whose presence in international art fairs are not so frequent, and to whom digital initiatives are offering a new opportunity to expand their outreach to international audiences. The full list of participant galleries is available on the Latitude website.

For the Latitude Art Fair, galleries are focusing on new and recent works by Brazilian artists,  presenting up to 15 artworks each by, on average, one to five different artists. Garnering momentum, many galleries are promoting parallel programmes with a series of online events taking place throughout the whole week of Latitude Art Fair week. Programmes include virtual studio visits, talks and guided tours, mostly available through each gallery’s Instagram profiles or websites.

As part of the fair’s official programme, Latitude Art Fair is also promoting partnerships with art advisors for tailored guided tours to groups of collectors and art professionals from various countries and institutions.
