About
“I am deeply interested in how cultures attract or collide, creating a new hybrid voice of the future. Understanding the dynamics of exile and migration is, for me, a direct consequence of my upbringing. I know that communicating visually has an essential role in starting a dialogue with the viewer. Reconciliation and harmony can be used as a tool to break down barriers and allows us to engage with ‘the other.‘ I believe that my mixed heritage has been a rich source of material to work with, though at times it has also created numerous questions within me about my identity, sense of belonging and place in the world.
The sense of not quite belonging, yet, at the same time being an observer of life, a tiny tremor of conflict within oneself, that is also a way to see the divisions and connecting threads that link each one of us to a complex wider world.”
