About Lucie M
Ever since I can remember I've always been drawing, painting and creating. Being creative has always been an essential part of my life.
My recent work mainly consists of acrylic paintings. I use painting as a way of expressing and capturing my experiences, thoughts and feelings. I really enjoy the combination of abstract painting with geometric shapes and lines reflecting architectural forms surrounding me.
The process can take anything from days to weeks of adding and removing multiple layers of paint and deliberating before a painting is finished.
My inspiration often comes from travelling abroad but day to day life can be equally stimulating especially when living in ever-changing London.
This is my first solo exhibition to show my landscape series which I’ve been working on since early November 2017.
Untitled 1 is the first piece in the series that sent me on a journey of exploring a connection between London’s greenery and urban spaces whilst longing for an escape from entrapments of the modern world.
These paintings symbolise my internal struggles with life and pursuing self-realization as a painter. In fact they are reflecting my interior life, thought processes and emotions which would be impossible to express in words otherwise.
I hope viewers will bring a personal interpretation to the work and decide what it means to them.
