House for an Art Lover is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new work by artist Sandi Anderson in the Art Lovers Café. Anderson was awarded the exhibition on the strength of her work presented in the 2017 RSW 136th Open Annual Winter Exhibition.
About
In 2009 Anderson began seven years of working outside in wild places; making figurative paintings by direct observation and looking at momentary glimpses of passing light and surface texture. In the summer of 2016 she spent three months on an artists’ residency in the north of Iceland. Looking both near and far, instead of painting, she photographed and filmed the imposing landscape and monumental skies – capturing extreme close-ups of, amongst other things, harbour decay, rust, paint, signs of previous human disturbance and wear.
Anderson’s instinct to see landscape in everything has evolved into this exhibition of landscapes. LANDSCAPE LANDSCAPE EVERYWHERE is a collection of etchings and monotypes made at Glasgow Print Studio.
Sandi Anderson has presented work in solo and group exhibitions throughout Scotland and the UK. Anderson lives and works in Glasgow.
